What is Chart?

A chart is a very broad term in data visualization that stands for a graphical representation for data in which data is represented by various pictorial symbols, depending on the specific type of chart.

The terms “chart” and “graphs” are commonly used interchangeably, but – even though on the surface they might seem similar – there are differences between them. First of all – the term “graph” is much narrower: it can be said that while all graphs are types of charts, not all charts are graphs.
